Vanessa did her undergraduate years at Dalhousie Agricultural College, where she split her time between the pre-veterinary and veterinary technician programs. After graduating, she worked briefly as a veterinary technician in her hometown of Fredericton, where she gained a deep appreciation for the different roles in veterinary medicine. Being accepted to vet school in PEI presented her with another learning opportunity she couldn’t resist. Throughout vet school and the early years of her career in NS, she developed special interests in surgery, pocket pets, cytology and feline medicine.
She enjoys spending her time at home with her multiple foster fail cats and her goofy greyhound Rooney, who keeps a growing list of grievances. In her free time you can often find her cozied up with a cup of tea and her knitting, tending to her growing collection of plants or playing music with a local concert band.
