Troye started at Eastern Passage Village Veterinary Hospital in June 2015. Originally from Cape Breton, Troye graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1989. Since graduation, Troye has worked in mixed animal practice, small animal practice, she was an instructor in Animal Science and Animal Health Technology at Lakeland College in Vermilion, Alberta and she also worked for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Troye has been exclusively a small animal veterinarian for the past 20 years. Her main interests are internal medicine, feline medicine and ultrasound.
Troye and her husband live in Dartmouth with four cats Dan, Annie, Glenn and Ginger and five Border Collies, Belle, Bob, Pete, Reba, and Nell. Outside of practice, Troye volunteers and is currently vice president of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, past president and council member of the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association, and serves on 6 additional committees/boards. She is also the Canadian representative to the Federation of European Veterinarians. In her spare time she loves running, hiking, camping, dog training and dog sports. She is also a certified Pilates instructor.
